I love when something so simple is also so very delicious! I love a hot sandwich but I never think to put one together. But after I found this recipe for Dripping Roast Beef Sandwiches, I started making hot sandwiches more often. They are wonderful when the air is cold outside because they warm you up - but they are also great on hot days when you don't want your oven on for hours, heating up the kitchen. In fact, if you really wanted to, you could even heat these up on the grill and not even turn your oven on!
This recipe is such a breeze because it uses a can of soup and some sliced deli meat as its main component. What could be easier? A few grinder rolls, some cheese slices and you just about have it all...it's so easy!
To start, just heat a can of French Onion soup with a few tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce until hot. Add in the deli slices and warm through.
While the meat is heating, lay out your sliced grinder rolls and get out the provolone cheese. Once the meat is hot, dish it out onto the grinder rolls and top with cheese. Almost there...
Pop it into a 375º oven for about 5 minutes - long enough for the cheese to melt and the bread to begin toasting.
Once it's done in the oven, take it out, top with pickled banana peppers and serve with the leftover soup, au jus style. It's delicious!
And that's it. These sandwiches are perfect for lunch but are filling enough for dinner. I've made them with French fries in the colder months and chips and macaroni salad in warmer months. Both are great accompaniments!
So if you are looking for a super fast sandwich that doesn't taste thrown together, try the Dripping Roast Beef Sandwich - and then come back and let me know what you think.
Sounds great- and easy! Thank you
