Cheddar Bacon Buttermilk Biscuits

Dave has a think for biscuits - lunkers- he used to call them when we would go out to "that chicken place" back in high school. You won't find us taking out fast food too often anymore as we prefer to make things in our own kitchen to the specifications we like.


These Cheddar Bacon Buttermilk Biscuits are one of those things we have tweaked to how we like it. The biscuit itself was a basic recipe, but after Dave was done with it, he had added a half dozen spices, cheese and bacon. They came together fast and since biscuits are not leavened, they went right into the oven and baked up beautifully in under twenty minutes.



Dave thought they may be equally delicious with cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage added in place of the bacon. I think they would have been perfect with a fried egg served over each half. They would have also done nicely alongside dinner.


I do know that any way you slice it - these Cheddar Bacon Buttermilk Biscuits were easy and delicious!
